How to Be Free of Bullies

Chapter One – Why bullying is simple to spot

Spot the bullies…before they spot you!

By way of anecdotes of incidents from my own life and theories about what I think these show about the relationship between the bully and bullied, I aim to reveal ways in which you can avoid being bullied. It may be surprising that people who get bullied also display bullying behaviour. It may be against someone else, a pet or even yourself. It could be said that any damage we impose on ourselves, drinking, smoking, drugs etc is some form of bullying ourselves.

Pushing stuff

It is important to look into incidents that have happened to you in a similar way to which I am reflecting on ones that have happened to me. No more pushing stuff under the carpet, hoping it will go away. What’s the point of that? All experiences in life, good or bad, reveal something and can be used to change an approach to a similar situation that occurs in the future. They say madness is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. How many of us do that? Well, we all do, but we don’t have to.

Nature

I will outline some ideas of how to do the things I am suggesting to give you the means to not be bullied. Bullying is part of nature. It may be called something else by some scientist somewhere and it probably had a survival use at some point in time.

There are many behaviours which are redundant now, which I believe hold us back, but we still use them and sometimes rotate our lives around them and live by them. I won’t name the culprits here. You will know the ones I’m talking about.

That is why I don’t agree with all the efforts made, and often funded, to clamp down on the bullies. This doesn’t work. The bullies are pretty likely to be being bullied themselves. So teach them how to not be bullied and, lo and behold, bullying would decrease.

Some COVID-19 Silver Linings – Past, Present and Possible

The pandemic has stopped humanity in its tracks. City streets are deserted and even politicians are reaching for experts to guide us. The world is talking and ordinary people’s voices are being heard. Creativity and resilience are increasing and people are caring for vulnerable citizens like never before. Governments and companies have to be accountable and key workers are being valued over sports stars. Rich people are not immune. Everyone is in this together. Why Profits are Put Before Public Health – and it’s Getting Dangerous

Further back in time, women were healers, often using herbs and natural medicines. Why Boosting your Media Profile While Ignoring Your Opposition Helps Win Elections

The biggest area in which political elections are fought has to be the media. There is plenty of evidence for this. Not least, we ought to look at the relationship between the party that wins and the column inches, headlines and photographs of their representations in the media. Speaking as a journalist since 1985, we […]
