How To Be Bully Proof

How to Be Free of Bullies

A rise in reports on biting back at bullies

Is it just me, or has anyone else noticed a rise in stories about people who got the chance to bite back at someone who had bullied them in the past.

It seems difficult to image this world that various campaigns seem to be fighting towards, in which people bully less.

Firstly, you could dismiss the content of bullying as it’s not going to win any Oscars.

It seems to me that the damaging effect of bullying can be reduced and in so doing, bullying becomes more difficult to carry out when more of their targets learn how to free themselves from the destructive cycle.

Countless reports of real life incidents and fictional film stories follow a similar line, it seems. They never seem to portray a world in which incidents of bullying are reduced. I’ve never read about a school or workplace that have successfully implemented a system in which a reduction of bullying has been shown in their environment.

Surely bullying is part of ancient natural make up to:

* Offload.

* Forestall future problems or threats.

* Increase our status.

* Gain power over others.

People aren’t going to stop doing any of those, it seems, any time soon.

Why can’t we accept bullying as part of the fabric of society and learn ways to not be so effected by it? My suggestion on other parts of this blog is that bullying follows a much more basic pattern then people can imagine. While the nature of the incidence, the size and frequency of occurrence can vary greatly,

Surely looking for similarities is always more useful than looking for variations?

Here is a story which appeared in the press recently: Louisa Manning managed to hit back at her school bully after he asked her out on a date.

    Many people don’t know how to react to bullying. I didn’t for many years until I read “The Laws of Human Nature” by Robert Greene! Thank goodness for that book because it providing empowerment like I’d never felt!

      Thanks Cherie, that definitely sounds like a book I want to read. The one that inspired me was actually semi-fiction, semi-autobiographical Margaret Atwood’s Catseye. Have you read that?

      Thank you again for your comments.
      Best regards

        I haven’t read that yet, but I’m placing it on my To Order list now! Thank you so much for the recommendation!

Do you really want the Tories out? I mean, really? Really, really? Really, really, really, definitely? If you are completely sure, then a cohesive marketing strategy with clear points for anyone to follow would make a difference. Elections are won through advertising, media presence and focusing on what you want. This is the same with […]

Why We Must Not Let Science Be Treated Like Religion

I have found it increasingly difficult to have in depth conversations with people as it seems as if their mind is made up on many topics, which brings to mind the Arctic Monkey’s song A Certain Romance: “They’ll never listenBecause their minds are made up” (Artic Monkeys – A Certain Romance) What is the difference […]

Why Informed Consent is Vital for the COVID vaccine

The purpose and research behind this blog post was for me to gather all the information I needed to make the best choice for myself about further vaccinations and risks from COVID-19 now or in the future. The current landscape of discussion and information on this makes it extremely hard and stressful to reach a […]

Last Throes of a Pandemic?

Last Throes of a Pandemic?

This is conjecture and an exploration, not even opinion yet. Like many of us, I have so many questions but there do not seem to be many people able or available to answer. How can such a massive campaign be launched to vaccinate people against COVID-19 without information, which allows each person to do what […]
